Creative
“Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun.” (Mary Lou Cook). I try to do better than the last delivery, every time.
Kabengwa
I’m Mark Patrick, an Information Systems Specialist, DevOps Engineer, and System Administrator based in Kibuye, Kampala. I’ve spent nearly ten years building and looking after information systems for ToughBlue and our clients.
At a glance
From Makerere to ToughBlue Uganda: analysis, code, servers, and keeping things running for the people who depend on them.
Who I am
After graduating from Makerere University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, I joined ToughBlue Uganda as a web developer, designer, and systems administrator. That work grew into my current roles as Information Systems Specialist, DevOps Engineer, and System Administrator.
Listening to clients and staying creative have always mattered most. I’ve worked with CMS and CRM platforms, and with small businesses as well as larger organisations. I’d be glad to work with you too.
How I work
Three habits I still bring to every project.
“Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun.” (Mary Lou Cook). I try to do better than the last delivery, every time.
I’m self-driven, comfortable in new places, and open to learning. The job is about what the client needs for the purpose, not what the developer prefers.
Deadlines matter. When the team shares the load properly, we can deliver better than expected, and still finish on time.
Selected work
School platforms, ledgers, fleet ideas, and a few side projects that keep me sharp.
I lead design, development, and administration of information systems and infrastructure for local and international clients. That covers availability, security, APIs, monitoring, and documentation.
A multi-campus school platform with registration, role-based access, parent and student portals, and notifications.
A troop builder, clan crypt tracker, and a few Chrome utilities for a game I play. Same systems thinking, different problem.
If you need someone who can write software and also look after servers, data, and the people using the system, I’d like to hear from you.
